First Nations Bush Medicine Workshop
On Thursday, 17th October Aunty Mel and Aunty Violet facilitated a Bush Medicine Workshop for our First Nations Students. They taught us how to make Bush Rub. A healing balm made with gum leaves. We all joined in crushing the leaves to bruise and extract the oils, stirred the pot as the heat drew out further oil and then added the fats to create the rub. This rub has been used for 1000’s of years by Ngadjuri people. We all got some to take home to our families too.
