What is mindfulness?
Are you mindful or is your mind full?
Mindfulness is the exercise of simply being present. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress” (mayoclinic.org).
Mindfulness helps us empty our mind, it is beneficial for children and adolescents, especially when feeling anxious or fidgety.
